Hardware failer question S.M.A.R.T

Hello

At this moment i am asking to my self.
Is it possible, that Hardware total failer can happen, if the current supply is damaged. Damaged in that way, if it can not serve enoght Volt.
My frind have never inserted the notebook AKKU!
The Harddrive surface have now devenitiv no damage. Because KNOPPIX-LIVE-Linux accapt it.
OK... while boot-sequenz the user must Press "F1" to finally boot the Knoppix Linux.
The error message which is displayed is S.M.A.R.T. error please press F1.
How can it happen that the S.M.A.R.T. error memory of the harddrive disk is damaged or full. I think the supply is guilty. Wath do you think about?
The Bios Battery is emty too ... i think now.

Have a nice day

Hi

Hard disks can be funny things, one day they'll be working fine, the next they don't. Things like banging them during operation can damage the disk's layer.

Hope that helps
